different people with Orchard Care, however we strive to maintain staff consistency.

It is important to us to give both emotional and practical support to our carers and children no matter what time of day it is.

We are a unique organisation that gives support little and often which often helps to prevent crisis.

We are a very helpful, approachable team of highly qualified people which also enables carers to draw on the many decades of child care experience within the organisation.

You will never be isolated and will be very much part of a team. You will always be able to contact someone to talk to for help or advice 24 hours, 7 days a week.

As one of our Carers, you will be given comprehensive training and support from day one, together with an ongoing package of help, training and advice (including input from our foster care support team). This 'package' will be tailored to suit your needs throughout.

Our dedicated support team get involved with all the children and young people and this team acts as an extended family and is able to provide support whenever it is needed including intensive support during school holidays.

Furthermore, Orchard Care has integrated a team of qualified teachers who work alongside carers, social workers and the support team. The appropriate support can therefore be provided in school as well as in the foster home and the wider community. It is this combined service that enables Orchard Care to formulate the best possible support of the young people, thus adding to the stability of the foster care placement.

Orchard Care offers a comprehensive package of support to its foster carers and maintains an up to date awareness of research findings on the needs of carers.  Research has found that the quality and consistency of support to foster carers has a direct bearing on successful outcomes for foster carers and the young people in their care.
